Project title:FUNCTIONAL POLYMERS IN MEMBRANES FOR ALTERNATIVE ENERGY AND BIO-SPECIFIC SOURCES
Project ID:2A-1TP1/116
Duration:11/2006 – 12/2009
Objectives:

The project is aimed at the investigation of polymer materials for the separation as well as hydrogen purification and for the application in solid electrolytes of fuel cells based on composite heterogeneous systems consisting of both functional polymers and other thermally and chemically resistant materials. The prepared composites in form of membrane will be components of separation modules and fuel cells of a low – as well as a high-temperature type for low or average output. Characterization of the polymer materials using modern physical methods and electrochemical study of solid electrolytes provided the selection of convenient types of model fuel cells for the design and launching of a complex laboratory standard of types of renewable source of electrical energy. Another scope for the study concerning the application of functional membranes relates to separation technology in biotechnological processes producing pharmaceutical and food products.
