About the project
MemBrain s.r.o. is going to build the MEMBRANE INNOVATION CENTRE (MIC) and equip it with devices and occupy it with employees till 2014. There is going to be prestigious research work area focused on the application of membrane separation processes in different industrial branches in Straz pod Ralskem.
Objectives:
- to develop and validate new or modified membranes, membrane modules, devices and technologies to be used especially in the fields of power engineering, food processing industry, pharmaceutics, car manufacturing industry and environmental protection
- to develop and apply laboratory and pilot scale membrane devices for validation and scientific purposes to experimental verification of new methods, SW, products and membrane technologies
- to develop innovative or new methods of membrane characterization, membrane modules and membrane processes for systematization and definition of the engineering standards and methodology and implementation into industrial sector through industrial platforms and industrial partners
- to make efficient use of the acquired knowledge in the applied research by transferring its results into commercial field through the realization of three research programs
- to build and operate a high-quality prestigious and professional background in the Liberec region to perform research activities in the area of comprehensive membrane programme
- to set up a multi-discipline team of specialists who will ensure research activities and transfer knowledge from research into industrial application
- to contribute to improvement of professional education and training of specialists through the offer of unique devices infrastructure and specialized services of the Centre
- to enhance the level and range of the cooperation of the Centre with academic institutions and research organizations in the Czech Republic and abroad in the form of collaborative research projects
- to contribute to popularisation and development of the discipline of membrane separation by presentation and publication activities or through active membership in the national and European organisations of similar specialization
The International Advisory Council is the opponent of the Centre which comments systematically scientific activities of the Centre and controls the realization of the particular thematic activities. The International Advisory Council will be nominated in III.Q of 2012.
